Adam and Ash are two of the main presenters on Disney Channel, Popcorn Magazine spoke to the two about presenting, working at Disney and what they are excited to do while travelling with the cast of The Next Step.
You travel a lot for your job, what has been your favourite place to visit and why?
Ash: Queenstown in New Zealand has a special place in my heart. It is such a beautiful place, the air smelt so clear and everyone we met was lovely!
Adam: NZ is always a special treat, especially when we visited the small town of Tapanui and realised how many fans of the show lived there. You guys rock!
What are you guys most looking forward to doing with The Next Step cast while they are here?
Ash: Visiting Hobart together. None of us have been to Tasmania, so it should be a lot of fun!
Adam: I’m hoping to learn a couple of awesome dance moves from some real professionals.
What are some of your guilty pleasures or secret obsessions?
Ash: My guilty pleasure would be eating caramel chocolate. I’m secretly obsessed with the “Alien” movies starring Sigourney Weaver. My open obsession is anything zombie related.
Adam: Music is my biggest not-so-secret obsession, I can’t get enough of it. Big fan of stuff from the early 70s and 90s.
Ash, you went to the world premiere of Star Wars: The Rogue One? What was your favorite moment and why?
Ash: After walking the red carpet they had actors in the crowd hurrying us along to escape from the bad guys. We ran through a theatre and came out the other side to a party with food, music, hip hop dancers and a virtual reality set up! Great way to hype you up before watching the film-which was AWESOME!
Adam, you are known as the fun loving goofball, how did you come to be known as that?
Adam: My big goofy smile helps, also I feel right at home being a bit of a character.
How did you guys get into presenting?
Ash: I kind of fell into it. I was doing Voice Overs for a few years and my agent told me about the open auditions Disney were holding.I had been wanting to try presenting or acting so I decided to audition by sending in a ‘self-test’, and got lucky!
Adam: A whole lot of luck. I went an open call audition for Disney back in 2008 and made sure I worked hard on set, was professional, and as friendly as I could be and thus they kept asking me back to do more stuff. I was just in the right place at the right time.
What is the best thing about working for Disney?
Ash: The traveling and getting to attend cool events. Also meeting celebrities and working with amazing people!
Adam: Probably the fun environment, plus I’m always surrounded by creative people and my boss is a mouse. Beats an office job any day of the week.
Where can people find you both on social media?
Ash: I really only use Instagram: @ashleigh_wells Sometimes I use Twitter! Twitter: ash__wells (that’s two underscores guys!)
Adam: Uhhh I’m not really on social media… but I’m hip to the hanging with emails so you can send your questions, challenge ideas and tricks to firstname.lastname@example.org
